Rebecca and I spent time with our boys tonight. One of the things we tried to do was get some pictures of the two of them together.
Unfortunately, Boris is just way too fast!
Finally, we settled in to watch "So You Think You Can Dance," and I was able to snap this one shot.
There's Othello, having won one battle of the Kong Wubba war!
It's so great to see these two GSDs (German Shepherd Dogs) together. Many people are afraid of GSDs; however, they are usually very good natured dogs. Othello is extremely good with children and small dogs, and he would never hurt anyone, unless he had to defend himself or if his people were in danger.
Pit bulls are another story. There have been some terrible news articles about pit bulls attacking people in recent weeks. Last night, Othello was briefly attacked by a pit bull in the neighborhood that broke free of her collar and leash. Her owner had to wrestle her to the ground to get her off him.
I guess now I can understand why some small dog owners scoop their pets up in their arms when they see Othello. They do have a very real fear. If only they knew that GSDs are nothing like pit bulls. They are guard dogs, sheep herders, and rescue workers. They are not fight dogs.
