Holly, it's quite something to see that each of those sweet children is holding something to cuddle and love, but one child, not too much older than her siblings, is holding not a toy, but her own infant. What an immense responsibility for a young girl.
It was wonderful that you could be part of that loving and caring group that brought help and joy to so many people of all ages in Guatemala. This was truly Christmas!
I am an events professional in the New York City metro area with a passion for travel. I lived in Germany for approximately five years and have traveled to over 20 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. My dream for 2008 was to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip around the world. Unfortunately, the shaky US economy and weak dollar prevented that. So, instead, I vowed that year to be one of change. Follow my journey in getting involved with humanitarian work in Guatemala, buying my first home with my newlywed husband, and figuring out what I can do to finally start making a difference.

I didn't even notice that about the picture, Mom. What a true observation.
